As we begin the forensic dive into a photo given to UAPMAX.com from Fernando we will start with some obvious explanations that have been fully ruled out. Drones. We don’t want to clutter this exploration with excessive non-explanations. but want to show that certain things were ruled out. Here is a link to the four types of drones used in both commercial and hobby endeavors.
Additionally, we researched round drones, both known and emerging. Here are some that we found:
Due to the obvious limitations of these drones, we have confidently ruled those out. The possibility does exist that an unknown prototype exists that can fly silently, and appear and disappear within a second. It is, however, highly unlikely as said object would need to break known physics.
Next, we wanted to rule out – birds in flight, and as one metabunk genius stated- a butterfly. I will conclusively prove that not only is it not a natural phenomenon, but it has some observables that are not just conclusive, but also proven with a third-party forensic examination.
Two examinations were conducted on the photograph. The first was to examine the full resolution photo visually to rule out the assertion that butterflies were present in the foreground.
Figure a. Assertion that butterflies were present:

Figure b. Additional “Proof”

Figure c. The “smoking gun”

Unfortunately, as stated, we had not released the full resolution images, but here, below, in the next couple full resolution screens, you can see that no butterflies are present.
Figure 1 – ZOOM

Figure 2 – Full Resolution

Figure 3 More with arrows

As we move forward into the examination, we feel that we can fully rule out butterflies and that the orb is in the foreground, just beyond the scrub grass, and the forensice examination will also rule this out. With our eyes, we can see the distance is much greater than the foreground (distance to orb from grass). However , trusting our eyes to disseminate a 2d image is not acceptable, so let’s get into the analysis.
First, these are the direct meta data screen grabs- this was performed on two different systems- The first, an online metadata analyzer. You can see the results HERE.
Additionally, here are the screens.

The second Meta Data Analysis was performed with GRIFFEYE software- software utilized by law enforcement agencies across the globe and is admisable in courts everywhere. This software evaluates whether the metadata has been manipulated in any way. I have the results, and when they finalize them, I will post them with an update here. I have been told by the person that the data shows zero manipulation- but don’t take my word for it- I will provide the report the second I get it. It will be in-depth and prove the data has not been manipulated, that zero pixels were changed and that the image is genuine.
Let’s move to the actual forensic data. It was performed by Mark Qvist- What follows is his credentials:
My theoretical background and training is in software engineering and mathematics, with a focus on networked systems design, cryptography, discrete mathematics and geometry. I spent the first fifteen years of my professional life designing and implementing secure and high-performance network- and computer systems for a diverse variety of businesses, ranging from financial institutions to machine shops. Through this work, my interests and passions developed into the areas of integrated electronics design and production, RF engineering and wireless communications systems, and through the years, I have designed and implemented a range of customised and bespoke radio communications devices and systems.
Around the world, hundreds of such systems are currently in operation, providing functional, secure and reliable communications and networking, in some of the most challenging situations, where normal Internet and network connectivity is impossible. In addition to the primary areas of my professional life, I have worked with drone-based photogrammetry mapping and imaging solutions since 2012, and was part of the field from the early period. My work in imaging systems later pivoted to VR imaging and video capture, post-processing and delivery, including optimising image processing and VR production workflows for high-quality 8K stereoscopic VR systems and reconstruction of 3D scenes from custom multi-sensor arrays. In this field, I have worked with all types of clients, from individual architectural firms to Microsoft, and have more than eight years of experience.
I am also the original designer and creator of the Reticulum Network Stack project, with the (admittedly rather ambitious) vision of creating a new unified base-layer fabric for secure and undisruptable digital communications. The Reticulum protocol provides a complete alternative to the problem-fraught Internet Protocol Suite, which acts as the base-layer for our current Internet. A future internet, based on Reticulum, will be truly secure, decentralised, undisruptible and open for all humankind.
A central tenet and guiding ethos of all my work is to create functional tools that distribute power and facilitate true human agency. I strive to infuse what I produce with these qualities, and you will surely find it in the corpus of open source software, hardware, firmware and electronics work, that I have published over the years, within the fields of cryptography and telecommunications. In both professional and personal capacities, I have operated CNC machinery, including 3D printers, laser cutters, mills and routers for more than ten years. While I am in no way a master machinist, I have a very solid understanding of the entire process of producing objects – from the extremely fine, such as delicate RF electronics, to the much coarser.
I have produced hundreds of different objects, prototypes and devices using CNC machinery, laser cutters, 3D printers and various form of other manufacturing equipment, both in my professional life, for tooling and production process purposes, and as a cherised personal interest. # Open Source Works Due to contract and project limitations, I cannot share details about every project and device I have designed and implemented. Fortunately I also maintain a substantial body of open source work, ranging from hardware, device firmwares, software, documentation and writings. I fluently work in ten different programming languages, and my body of open source work represents a decent subset of these.
Additionally, I would like to share a couple snippets of our discussions-
- I don’t want to preempt anything regarding your plans for rolling this out though, so please just let me know whenever that would be appropriate. My plan is to make a few post showing in a clear and easily understandable way that the object is: – Reflective – Far away – Large I think this would be a great way to back up everything until I can complete the full technical analysis article. Let me know if there’s anything I should now in that regard.
- Yes, you are very welcome to cite and reference me on the information provided in the initial summary. I will stand fully behind this.
- Yes. The photo is authentic and unaltered. And the object is pretty darned big. I’ve sent you an email, caus it got quite long and didn’t really fit here.
- Incredible stuff man. Simply amazing that Fernando got to take that photo. Must have been quite the experience!
- Asked If it MIGHT be a butterfly: That’s an interesting path, and one I think needs at least some investigation and consideration. I highly doubt it though, unless we can somehow find butterflies in Ecuador made of polished chrome. I’m not a biologist, but I doubt that to be very common anywhere 😉 My initial chrominance analysis is pointing towards the object having a highly reflective surface.
Now, lets move on to the actual analysis results- Keep in mind- more tests will be run, including a 3d rendering in space of the object, its possible pathway, its size relative to the environment and a rendering using advanced 3d modeling software to clean this image up even further and render the actual object as it exists.
We will be posting an additional (2nd) independent analysis of this object in the photo, the surrounding terrain and the results from that analysis, which coincide almost verbatim to the results Mark concluded. Mark was able to create a better picture of size and distance, but we will nail that down further with additional rendering and provide you with those results as we get them. This is not cheap. I am taking on theses costs personally along with my partner in crime- Juan Feria, who initially brought me this image from Fernando- we are working on a podcast to go over it along with Fernando to tell his story to you directly. Then we are discussing a question and answer session on X Spaces. We will keep you informed. So no further discussion yet, please read the rest after you read the results. Some other news you should know. Mark has put this in layman’s terms. There is a much more technical an in-depth version of this, but this should suffice for now.
Results of Forensic Analysis 1:
Now, let’s get into some of the interesting details. There’s a lot to
go through here, so I’ve tried to condense everything down to bullet
points for you. There’s few more technical bits and pieces I left out
(which also support the authenticity), but I think the below are the
most simple to understand and conclusive points for a wide range of
people. Peoples eyes usually tend to glaze over a bit when you start
talking about fourier series and discrete sine transforms, so I tried
to keep it “simple”. Maybe it’s just worth mentioning that *everything*
I’ve looked at so far has supported the authenticity of the image.
Here we go:
- Image is in HEIC format as expected from iPhone 13 Pro camera, and
was not edited and re-compressed. What we see in the image was present
at time of capture. Neither additions nor removals have ocurred. - The visual fidelity and compression ratio of the image exactly
matches what we expect to see from an HEIC-encoded image straight from
the iPhone 13 Pro camera - Editing the image, and saving it back to the HEIC format would
have either: a. Detectably degraded visual fidelity of the image, while
keeping the file size constant. b. Kept the visual fidelity constant, while significantly
increasing the file size. - We do not find any detectable degredation of visual fidelity from
normal and expected iPhone 13 Pro compression ratios in the image,
which means that any edits would have neccesitated a very high HEIC
quality setting, and therefore a higher final file size than the 1.4
megabytes we actually find. - Furthermore, sharpening artifacts resulting from on-board image
processing before the HEIC encoding step are clearly detectable around
the object. These exactly match what we expect from the image
processing on the iPhone 13 Pro. They also match other high-contrast
regions in the same photo. This is additional strong evidence that the
object was present at time of capture, and not added later, or
modified.
– I have no doubt that the photograph is authentic and unedited. - By remapping the input level curves of the image, we can recover much
more information from the body of the object, and reflections of the
surrounding landscape become visible on the body of the object. - The object is highly reflective, and chromaticity of reflections
in subregions of the body of the object was compared to corresponding
regions of the surrounding landscape and sky. - The chromaticity information present in the reflections
accurately correspond to expected values for all of the regions they
reflect, both in the landscape and the sky. - The reflections on the body accurately correspond to the
lighting situation in the scene at the time of capture. - Furthermore, the luminosity component of the reflections also
match what would be expected from a highly reflective object, both in
the parts reflecting the sky and the ground. - In short, the reflections are physically accurate and 100%
consistent with reality. - It is worthy of mention, that the object does not appear to
be perfectly spherical, but has several “appendages”, and what seems
like ridges or “fins”. The only way for the geometry of the reflections
to make sense also seems to indicate that the body is slightly
elongated and deformed in some places, in comparison to a perfect
sphere. - The recovered reflections also significantly improves the accuracy at
which we can physically locate the object in space. Initial rough
estimates follows:
– The object is located at a distance of between 500 and 900 meters
– The diameter of the object is between 3.5 and 6.2 meters.
– The above is assuming that the photo was taken with the 26mm-
equivalent lens of the iPhone 13 Pro (which is indicated in the
metadata). - The physical dimensions are still subject to a lot of uncertainty,
since I have not yet been able to obtain up-to-date and accurate
topographical data and ortophotography from the Ecuadorian Instituto
Geográfico Militar. Once I have that data, I should be able to narrow
it down significantly. - It is already clear from the luminosity and chromaticity data
that the object is located in the cloud-covered zone between the viewer
and the first ridge. - It is also highly unlikely that it is less than 500 meters from
the camera, due to the reflections of the terrain below. Better
geospatial data will be able help improve the location accuracy.
– Taking the above into consideration, it is not possible that the
object is a nearby small feature, such as a ball or balloon.
This is the most condensed version I could make for you, as of now. To
properly explain and document it all (with understandable graphics,
animations and calculations) will probably require a pretty long
article, which I would love to write. But as stated above, that is
going to take some time to complete.
Additional Photos:

Heres what comes next: The additional forensic report, as soon as I get it, I will post. Additional 3d rendering and analysis of the orb in space, coordinates being nailed down by contacting the area’s official and getting more geo data- this is ongoing. But you can check the satellite data in the photo metadata above. We are getting additional terrain data.
We will provide the original files to anyone that has the professional credentials to do a thorough critical and forensic examination of the photo in question. You must be in the field, or highly qualified. Spacial analysis will take priority. We will not provide the originals to debunkers, or armchair anaylsts. This must be your business or adjacent to your livelihood. We want verifiable and unimpeachable results. If you are a professional finding fault with anything- or want to do your own analysis- simply click here and submit your desire to get the original for detailed forensic analysis. There will be some requirements to uphold and you must sign an agreement that the photos will only be used for that purpose. we want this to be the most studied UFO photo in existence.
Why? Because we feel it’s the single best UFO orb photo ever taken.
For additional reading – you may read these articles on how Orbs and TicTacs work- fundamental whistleblower testimonies and theories about exactly what you are seeing in the photograph.
